Security Tool Removal Instructions

Security Tool is yet another instance of Rogue Spyware.  Security Tool pretends to be a spyware scanner and finds all kinds of false problems with your machine, prompting you over and over to protect your computer.

The sad fact is that Security Tool is holding your computer hostage and asking you to pay a ransom to get your computer back to normal.  Over time Security Tool becomes more and more annoying and eventually cripples your PC to the point of being almost unusable.  Security Tool is an especially problematic piece of rogue spyware because it actively blocks your ability to run programs and makes radical changes to your PC to try and prevent you from being able to remove it.

How to Remove Security Tool

The first thing you need to do in order to remove Security Tool is stop the process that is blocking your ability to download and run programs. Security Tool makes this nearly impossible when your PC is running in normal mode. To effectively stop the interference, you must boot your PC into what is known as "SAFE MODE." Follow the instructions below to get your PC into "SAFE MODE"

1) First, PRESS CTRL+D TO BOOKMARK THIS PAGE, so that you can easily get back here once you are in "SAFE MODE."

2) To get into "SAFE MODE" simply restart your PC and while it is restarting, keep pressing the F8 key over and over. You should eventually see a screen like the one below.

3) Make sure you select "SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING" from the options you are shown. Use your arrow keys to navigate to this option and then press ENTER.

4) Once you are in "SAFE MODE" you should return to this page to complete the removal process. Write these instructions down if you think it will help you remember them!

5) Once you are in "SAFE MODE" you should be free of the Security Tool interference. Now you are ready to proceed with the removal tool.
